Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F) for 10 minutes. Pat your salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels to ensure proper seasoning adhesion.
  2. Combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and sea salt in a small bowl. Rub each salmon fillet evenly with this spice mixture on all sides for consistent flavor.
  3. Brush your grill grates lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Place seasoned salmon skin-side up on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes without moving them.
  4. While the smoky tender grilled salmon recipe cooks, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and fresh dill in a small cup. This glaze will add incredible moisture and sweetness.
  5. Flip the salmon carefully and brush generously with your glaze mixture. Cook for another 6-8 minutes until the flesh flakes easily and reaches 145°F internally.
  6. Transfer grilled salmon to a serving platter and let rest for 2 minutes. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the top and garnish with fresh dill and lemon wedges.
